<p> Customs: Visas are required for all visitors except transit
passengers and may be obtained from the honorary consul at the
following address: Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Nauru,
Davies Pacific Center, 841 Bishop St., Suite 506, Honolulu, HI
96813 (tel. 808-523-7821).
</p>
<p> Health: No inoculations are required unless the traveler
arrives from an infected area.
</p>
<p> Telecommunications: An earth satellite station provides
24-hour telephone, telegraph, and telex service worldwide.
Nauru is 17 standard time zones ahead of eastern standard time.
</p>
<p> Transportation: The international airport is located in the
Yaren District. The only flights to Nauru are with Air Nauru,
which operates jet flights from Australia, New Zealand, Guam,
the Solomon Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia,
Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, the
Marshall Islands, Hawaii, Kiribati, Fiji, and Palau. Taxis and
rental cars are available, and bus service runs throughout the
island.
